Hoon Lee is a licensed acupuncturist, the founder of CALee Acupuncture, and the developer of the CALee Diagnostic Framework for Korean acupuncture. He studied Statistics at Korea University, shaping his view of the body as an interconnected relational system — a perspective that informs both his clinical approach and his research methodology.

His published framework defines Korean acupuncture through three clinical principles: Constitutional Individuation, Relational Process, and the Non-Fixed Self. The framework provides a coherent epistemological basis for studying and evaluating Korean acupuncture on its own terms, rather than through research designs built for standardized medicine.

"The question Korean acupuncture asks is not 'How do I treat insomnia?' but 'What pattern of relational imbalance is currently expressing itself through disturbed sleep?'"
